A pressure group, Sunshine Liberation Movement (SLM), has asked former Deputy National Chairman of Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Chief Olabode George, to keep silence and discontinue further attacks on Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential aspirant.
SLM, an Ondo-based group, in a statement by its Coordinator, Elder Dipo Ajidahun, tasked George to point to his achievements when he was military governor of Ondo State in the military era.
The group expressed displeasure at the predilection of George for politicising “everything in the glaring fact that Tinubu transformed the face of Lagos and can do more if elected President of Nigeria”.
The SLM described the tenure of George as military administrator of Ondo State as a waste, noting that there was no identifiable infrastructure to signpost the era.
It particularly gave kudos to the late former civilian governor of Ondo State, Chief Adekunle Ajasin, for ensuring infrastructural development and setting up industries to sustain the state.
“But it is on record that all the industries set up by Ajasin collapsed under Bode George as military administrator, and he he left the state with no achievement.

“Knowing this himself, upon his departure, he particularly told journalists that he would like to be remembered for ‘a Lagos Boy that passed through Ondo State’.
Commending the Ajasin era, the group said, “The late Pa Ajasin provided rural electrification to communities in all parts of Ondo State; supplied water, constructed roads, built schools, and even established Ondo State university, a Polytechnic, a College of Education, and a School of Nursing and Midwifery.
“Pa Ajasin also established Owena Bank, Oluwa Glass Industry, Okitipupa Palm Tree Plantation, comprehensive and basic health centres in all rural communities.
“Not yet, Papa set up Ire Burnt Bricks Industry, Ceramic Industry in Ifon, Progressive Insurance Company, Owena Mass Transport Company, Water Transportation, Akure Airport, and gave free education to all levels.”
The group averred that all such institutions collapsed under Bode George, wondering why he is now out to castigate Tinubu who made many transformations as governor of Lagos, “which nobody can dispute”.
